Magatzin is a sketchbook of ideas, allowing to directly release smaller projects, leaving space to think about longer ones. Starting as an image archive, it developed to include sound and video projects.
EXPERIMENTAL AMBIENT / SOUND ART
(continually updated)
'silence (neglected ambient works 19-23)' is a collection of ambient pieces ranging back to 2019, which had not been previously released. An exploration of what it means to be silent and to truly listen.
HÜTTE 48, a piece for glass, teeth, voice, salt, wood, metal.
A percussive musique concrète where all sounds were created in a chalet in Belgium, in collaboration with Zenith & Schnötzke.
The 'Tape Concertos' are an experimentation with several casette tapes and tape recorders found in second hand stores. I simply recorded an old cassette with classical music and looped and distorted it to create interesting soundscapes, digitally emulating the techniques William Basinski used for his 'Disintegration Loops'.
'a jazz club', 'a mountain range', and the album 'UNI' aimed to accumulate a collection of recordings to help me remember the soundscapes of life at university. Inspired by ambient artists and composers like R. Murray Schafer and Tim Hecker, as well as the musique concrète movement, I wanted to give myself the exercise of listening closely to my everyday surroundings and discovering interesting sounds that would otherwise have been ignored.
